Ding Dong...

Hellooooooooo bloggies. Another week goes by with (minimal) love from me. I'm still here! Just busy appreciating the other blogs out there instead of updating my own.

Lost of things have been happening though. Namely...

Halloween - what did you all go as? I went the semi-easy route with one of these


It was Guy Fawkes in some parts of the world. Kind of like 4th of July but for a very different reason...

There was kind of a big deal election last night... and the new first family dressed to impress. Soooo co-ordinated.

When I was playing with my aforementioned air-erase pen, I drew up and stitched the below little number, with some bird patterns from the Sublime Stitching book I got for my birthday.


Let me know what you think! The birds are an iron on pattern, and the hearts and crosses are free hand. Since the pen would "air-erase" so quickly I pretty much had to sketch and stitch straight away. So it is a bit different to what I first drew, oh well.


Oh and I got some metallic thread, look how pretty. It was sewwww scratchy to stitch with. Next time I think I'll use less threads, which should give a flatter look.


I hung it up with my other 2 stitching projects, which looked ok...


... until I stepped back. The wall is still a bit bare.

So I think I am going to use the below photo as inspiration and just keep adding things. Still thinking about the pin-board too.

Handmade Nation

Has everyone heard of the documentary coming out in 2009 called Handmade Nation? I am super excited, it documents the rise of handmade art craft in America.

Hair of the Dog

Ever been a bit jealous of your canine-friends big fluffy coat? Wish you had one? Can't say I have but these people have found a way!


Behold some portraits of people wearing clothes knitted from the hair of their dogs...


Much better than wearing your deceased pet's skin as a fur coat, but still, mildly weird.


No dogs were harmed in the making of these clothes. All you do is collect the hair after you brush them, carefully pack it up and send it away to be spun into wool.

Check out these every real looking cardboard box sheets from linen company Snurk.

A large proportion of the proceeds from the Le Clochard quilt cover go to SZN, the foundation for homeless young people in the Netherlands. The income is used to fund housing projects which prioritise supporting young people in finding work or continuing their education.
