500 Pencils

Why is it that when I am super broke, or saving for something really important, I see something awesome but completely non-essential and then am consumed by it, until it is mine?

So this week is going to be a bit slow on old G.C. I have a surprise guest in town for my birthday (yay!) so going to be hanging with her and not at my desk unfortch. I def need to get back to crafting as well so hopefully next Monday I will have something for y'all to feast your eyes on. Maybe something from my new embroidery patterns! This could be the week when our apartment invests in an iron...

Free Cards, with purchase

For a while you can chose a card or note free when you purchase something else. Like the cards below. If you are not in the mood to purchase, at least check out what she has on offer. Everything she makes is so pretty! Makes me want to practice my handwriting skillz.

Pay-pa

On my walk home from the park on Sunday (where I went expecting some relaxing crafting in the sun, but got a heavy metal protest rally instead, good old new york), I stumbled upon this cute little store on Avenue A called Sustainable NYC. It is filled with cool cards, books, gifts, you name it. It even had a range (a range!) of books on crochet and amigurumi. Which reinforced my belief that crochet is so hot right now.

Anyway, even though I am trying to stick to a budget, I had to take home one of the PatternPad's from Seltzer. It is a book of patterned paper that you can tear out to make great cards, letter writing paper or origami. AND what is even better is that all Seltzer products are 100% post-consumer recycled. So really I was helping to save the world.
